Pink Slips from Balmain Automotive
If your car is more than five years old and you’re renewing its registration in New South Wales, you’ll need what’s commonly known as a Pink Slip. Officially called an eSafety Check, this inspection confirms your vehicle is roadworthy and safe to drive on NSW roads.
At Balmain Automotive, we’re an authorised inspection station, which means we can carry out Pink Slip inspections quickly and send the results directly to Transport for NSW so you can renew your rego online or at a Service NSW centre without delays.
When Do You Need a Pink Slip
You’ll need a Pink Slip if your vehicle is more than five years old and you are:
Renewing your registration
Registering a vehicle after the registration has expired
Registering a vehicle in NSW for the first time after transferring it from another state
What We Check in a Pink Slip Inspection
During an eSafety Check, we inspect key safety items, including:
Brakes and brake fluid condition
Tyres, tread depth and overall condition
Lights and indicators
Steering and suspension
Windscreen and wipers
Seatbelts
Rust or structural integrity issues
Fluid leaks
How Long is a Pink Slip Valid?
A Pink Slip is valid for 42 days from the date of issue. If you don’t renew your rego within that time, you’ll need another inspection.
